The EUKI invites all of its projects to use this blog to share events, project results and other project related highlights on climate action in the European Union. Through the exchange, we want to enable organisations to share their experiences on good approaches on climate mitigation and allow the members of our EUKI Community to learn from each other. We also invite other actors to follow the blog and make use of EUKI project results.

Three Presidencies for Climate: Think European – Act Local

The Three4Climate project connects six cities and six schools from Germany, Portugal and Slovenia to enable exchange and cooperation on local climate action. As part of the project, the participating schools in Slovenia (Kranj, Maribor) and in Portugal (Braga, Loulé) organized Climate Action Days with numerous and diverse activities for students to learn but also inform others in their schools and municipalities about climate change and how everyone can contribute to mitigating its severe impacts.

Boschi per la Biosfera – Forests for the Biosphere

The local environmental organisation Giacche Verdi Bronte educated schoolchildren in Sicily about reforestation and the role of food in climate change. Even though covid restrictions posed severe challenges and the two EUKI projects ran out in 2018 and 2019, the voluntary association continues its work with schools and international volunteers.

On 16-17 June 2021 165 participants from 13 countries gathered virtually for the BEACON Final Conference to advance the work and success that schools and municipalities have initiated in the past three years through the project.
