To mobilise sustainable finance for the transformation of the European economy, the EU strategy rests on covering the gap of additional investments needed to meet the EU’s climate objectives. This article highlights the importance of transparent corporate sustainabiltiy reporting.
The third Bavaria-wide network conference of the Institute for Energy Technology (IfE) at the OTH Amberg-Weiden took place on 15 July 2021. For the first time, participants from other European countries joined.

Croatia GBC and Sendzimir Foundation are organizing an online training to teach ways of renovating cultural heritage buildings. The training is intended for architects, conservators, engineers, contractors, project managers, members of city offices for cultural protection and energy, public administration bodies and students.
The Energy Efficiency Network Team met for the first time at the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague.
Another virtual study tour in the framework of the EUKI project Three4Climate took place this time to Braga and Loulé (Portugal). The multi-faceted three-day event included videos, expert presentations, “round tables” and networking sessions.
The Three4Climate project connects six cities and six schools from Germany, Portugal and Slovenia to enable exchange and cooperation on local climate action. As part of the project, the participating schools in Slovenia (Kranj, Maribor) and in Portugal (Braga, Loulé) organized Climate Action Days with numerous and diverse activities for students to learn but also inform others in their schools and municipalities about climate change and how everyone can contribute to mitigating its severe impacts.
The local environmental organisation Giacche Verdi Bronte educated schoolchildren in Sicily about reforestation and the role of food in climate change. Even though covid restrictions posed severe challenges and the two EUKI projects ran out in 2018 and 2019, the voluntary association continues its work with schools and international volunteers.
On 16-17 June 2021 165 participants from 13 countries gathered virtually for the BEACON Final Conference to advance the work and success that schools and municipalities have initiated in the past three years through the project.
