Background

The project aligns with the EU Green Deal, ETS2, and SCF, supporting national decarbonisation strategies in Central and Eastern Europe. It contributes to Social Climate Plans, addressing climate inequities and fostering energy transitions. For Latvia, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia, and Bulgaria, this is crucial for reducing reliance on fossil fuels, improving energy efficiency, and achieving EU-wide climate neutrality.

Project

The project empowers civil society organisations (CSOs) to monitor and advocate for fair implementation of ETS2 and SCF in Central and Eastern Europe. Activities include capacity-building workshops, assessments of national climate policies, and development of policy recommendations to address social and environmental challenges. A Europe-wide communication campaign engages stakeholders and raises public awareness about ETS2 and SCF. The project overlooks policy development and implementation in the five partner states, provides recommendations to decision-makers, and promotes equitable carbon pricing to achieve decarbonisation goals, reduce social inequalities, and support climate neutrality.
