Bankwatch’s Position on the EU’s 2028 – 2034 Multiannual Financial Framework Proposal

EUKI Project A+ Approach to Enhance Energy Transition supports local authorities in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) countries in leading the decarbonisation process. It ensures a fair energy transition through increased access to EU funds and capacity-building activities.

This position paper analyses the European Commission’s proposal for the 2028–2034 Multiannual Financial Framework, highlighting key concerns about how it falls short of addressing Europe’s urgent investment needs for decarbonisation, digital transformation and biodiversity protection. Therefore is sets out recommendations for a stronger, more sustainable and socially just EU budget that supports Europe’s long-term climate and cohesion goals.
