Challenges for Energy Communities in Central and Eastern Europe

dflip

EUKI Project A+ Approach to Enhance Energy Transition supports local authorities in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) countries in leading the decarbonisation process. It ensures a fair energy transition through increased access to EU funds and capacity-building activities.

Energy communities are increasingly important grassroots component of Europe’s clean energy transition, especially in the CEE region. Yet significant barriers continue to limit their growth. Drawing on questionnaire responses from the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Poland and Romania, this briefing identifies key bottlenecks holding back the progress of energy communities in the region.
