Green Public Procurement Guidelines for Buildings

dflip

EUKI project SURF supports Germany, Hungary, and Romania in promoting sustainable building renovations to achieve climate-neutral building stocks. By focusing on empowering municipal actors, the project provides tools and training to address the untapped potential for energy-efficient renovations in public buildings.

The Green Public Procurement (GPP) Guidelines for Buildings offer practical steps for integrating sustainability criteria into procurement processes. These guidelines emphasise life cycle costing, energy efficiency, and the use of recycled materials, ensuring renovations deliver long-term environmental and economic benefits. By leveraging the EU Public Procurement Directive, the guidelines help municipalities implement effective and innovative procurement strategies, aligning local renovation projects with EU climate goals.

These guidelines are also available on the website of Deutsche Umwelthilfe in Romanian and Hungarian language.
