Guideline for the Mountain Huts in the Romanian Carpathians

dflip

This guideline by EUKI project Reducing Emissions in Carpathian Mountain Huts explores how sustainable mountain huts could be developed in the Romanian Carpathians, based on lessons from 21 huts across Europe. It focuses on low-impact construction and operation, adapted to local conditions. By promoting energy-efficient design and self-sufficient systems, the project helps to reduce energy use and cut CO₂ emissions. Framed around the “Man–Mountain–Hut” triangle, the guideline highlights the link between environmental, social, and economic factors.
