Lessons Learnt from the COMMENCE Project

dflip

EUKI project COMMENCE project advances the development of community energy in Central Europe by addressing key implementation bottlenecks in the Visegrad Four region. This Lessons Learnt Report outlines the initial conditions in Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, comparing them to the more established structures in Austria.

The analysis reveals that despite some progress, significant gaps remain in legal frameworks, technical conditions, institutional capacity, and public awareness. Through international knowledge exchange, national recommendations, and practical support for local actors, the project has made important strides, but it also highlights areas where further action is needed to unlock the full potential of community energy in Central and Eastern Europe.
