Mapping Renewable Energy Sources Potential, Challenges, and Opportunities in Bulgaria

dflip

EUKI project RenewStart for Hydrogen Technologies promotes renewable energy and hydrogen integration in Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Albania. It builds a multinational consortium across key sectors to raise awareness, attract investment, and enhance market growth.

The publication outlines key strategies for Bulgaria’s transition to renewable energy, focusing on reducing coal capacity and increasing renewables like geothermal energy. This shift aims to enhance energy security and support decarbonisation efforts. To achieve these goals, Bulgaria is encouraged to modernise its grid infrastructure and improve regulatory frameworks. The Recovery and Resilience Plan emphasises significant investments in renewable projects and storage solutions, promoting a sustainable energy future aligned with EU targets.
