Poland’s Heavy Industry Decarbonisation: Policy and Financing Roadmap

dflip

EUKI project Sustainable Finance for Industry Decarbonisation supports Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia in advancing industrial decarbonisation. It equips policymakers, industry leaders, and financial institutions with tools to meet EU climate targets.

This policy and financing roadmap focuses on decarbonising Poland’s heavy industries—cement, steel, and chemicals—by 2030. The roadmap recommends to target energy efficiency and lower-emission fuels, with long-term solutions like CCUS and hydrogen technologies expected by the 2030s. EU funds and private finance, such as green bonds, offer vital resources for this transition. The project highlights the need for better governance, resource allocation, and sustainable finance to ensure a competitive, sustainable industrial future.
