Recommendations for the Development of Community Energy in Slovakia

dflip

EUKI project COMMENCE – Community Energy in Central Europe advances the development of effective energy communities across the Visegrad Four. This national brief outlines Slovakia’s readiness to scale community energy and identifies key measures needed to strengthen its legislative, regulatory and social foundations. The report is in Slovak.

The analysis finds that, despite upcoming legislative changes, Slovakia still faces significant gaps in regulation, financing, public awareness and network tariff design. Interest in community energy is growing, yet systematic support, clearer incentives and stronger institutional engagement remain essential for enabling broader participation and enhancing energy security.
