As the deadline for EU member states to submit their national Social Climate Plans (SCPs) approaches, this Web Seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the current status and future outlook of SCPs in Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries. The Social Climate Fund (SCF) presents a significant opportunity to alleviate social hardships for vulnerable households resulting from the forthcoming Emissions Trading System (ETS 2), which targets emissions from the buildings and transport sectors.
The seminar will highlight the varying progress across CEE countries, emphasising the value of knowledge exchange in optimising the utilisation of the SCF. Insights will be shared from various stakeholders involved, like the EU’s Technical Support Instrument (TSI), which has been instrumental in supporting SCP development in CEE countries. Additionally, EUKI projects and other NGOs from the EUKI Community will share experiences from their involvement in the drafting processes of SCPs within their respective countries and sectors, as well as through various NGO exchange platforms.
