Navigating the New EU Methane Regulation: Key Provisions, Monitoring and Compliance

This web seminar aimed to provide participants with a clear understanding of the new EU Methane Regulation (EU 2024/1787), which came into force in August 2024. The regulation is a crucial component of the European Green Deal and the Global Methane Pledge, targeting methane emissions in the energy sector and fossil fuel imports. With strict provisions on leak detection, reporting, and flaring limits, the regulation marks a significant step towards reducing methane emissions, the second-largest driver of global warming.
