BioJust Shapes Social Climate Plans in Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania

Topics: Buildings Energy Policy Energy Transition Energy Transition and Climate-Neutral Buildings Renewable Energy

Countries: Bulgaria Hungary Romania

Within the EUKI project BioJust, project partners not only shared their results with national policymakers, but also brought their recommendations directly to the European level. In February and March 2025, WWF Bulgaria, Habitat for Humanity Bulgaria, WWF Hungary, and Habitat for Humanity Hungary participated in two closed European Commission events in Sofia and Budapest, organised by DG EMPL and DG CLIMA on the Social Climate Fund and the new ETS2. Building on recommendations developed within the project, the partners actively contributed to the discussions and submitted policy input to DG CLIMA. Their proposals helped shape the Social Climate Plans of Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania, and were positively acknowledged by European Commission officials, who expressed interest in continued collaboration.
