In Trikala, EUKI project UPGREAT completed the country’s first Passive-House-certified kindergarten, setting a national precedent for energy-efficient schools. Built in cooperation with the Hellenic Passive House Institute, the building offers year-round comfort with minimal heating and cooling needs, cutting operational costs for the municipality. Now, local authorities, educators, and the construction sector plan to extend the success of the Passivhaus standards to more schools.
