Who is responsible for EUKI?
The EUKI is part of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN). It was founded in 2017.
The EUKI is implemented by the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit).
What are the Tasks of the EUKI?
The EUKI does the following:
- It supports climate action projects operating in Europe.
- The goals are reducing greenhouse gases and improving collaboration.
- It promotes good ideas for climate action and energy-saving mobility and buildings.
- It encourages sustainability in politics and business.
- It brings people together: authorities, NGOs, environmental groups, and scientists.
- The EUKI Academy offers training courses and webinars on climate action and methods.
What means “Call for ideas”?
We promote an annual call for proposals from organisations for climate projects. The EUKI selects good ideas and supports them with between €120,000 and €1,000,000 per project.
What is the EUKI Academy?
The EUKI Academy is a learning opportunity. It organises training courses and specialist events. People from all over Europe interested in climate action can also participate. There is a learning platform with educational videos and recordings of numerous webinars. The EUKI Academy also offers events where organisations can exchange ideas.
