EUKI spoke with Slovenian journalist Gašper Andrinek about his climate-related work as a radio journalist, podcast producer and festival organizer. He also revealed his plans for his fellowship under the EUKI project Central Eastern European Climate and Energy Policy Scholarship for Journalists next year. The interview was conducted on the sidelines of the Energy and Climate Media Dialogue in Poland.

20 participants from 12 European countries attended the EUKI Academy’s multi-stakeholder training from 25 October to 11 November 2021 to learn how to bring differently thinking societal actors to the table.

From 3 – 6 November 2021 the International Journalist Programme (IJP) held the Energy and Climate Media Dialogue in Poland as part of the EUKI project Central Eastern European Climate and Energy Policy Scholarship for Journalists. Eleven journalists from seven countries travelled to Warsaw and Danzig to visit polish NGOs, media institutes and think tanks driving forward Poland’s climate policy to achieve the  European climate targets.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) is calling for project ideas that help implement ambitious climate action policies in Europe. Non-profit organisations from civil society, science, business, education and municipalities can submit proposals to the sixth European Climate Initiative (EUKI) call for project ideas until 12 January 2022.

The new EUKI projects from our 5th selection procedure start in autumn 2021. They contribute to the implementation of the EU Green Deal.

For our EUKI brochure we spoke with Anthi Charalambous from Cyprus Federation of Employers & Industrialists (OEB) about the EUKI project Hotels4Climate. The project promotes GHG reduction among hoteliers in Cyprus, Greece and Germany by providing them with the necessary knowledge, support and capacity building.

From 13 to 18 September 2021, the Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development (DDNI) organized the 28th edition of the international scientific symposium “Deltas & Wetlands”. 500 representatives participated in the hybrid event to discuss the latest research results on climate change mitigation in the Danube Delta.
