Energy Independence Made Easy

Almost a quarter of all electricity in Germany is produced by Bürgerenergie also known as citizen or community energy. In other European countries, too, the expansion of photovoltaic and wind energy systems for private households is progressing steadily. And yet, the current conflict in Europe has once more demonstrated to which degree many countries in the EU are still reliant on fossil energy imports. The EUCENA project has launched an online course with instructions on how you too can easily start producing renewable energy at home.
While policy makers across the continent are bound to both limit these ties and secure European energy supply, there are ways how you as a private energy consumer can act yourself! The EUKI project “EUCENA – European Citizen Energy Academy” has just launched a free massive open online course (MOOC) with instructions on how you can start producing renewable energy at home. Since 17 February 2022, the Citizen Energy Academy is open. The course is free of cost and accessible to everyone, everywhere.
In the tutorials, practitioners on the ground from Germany, Greece and Croatia demonstrate how you can install plug and play photovoltaic systems on a balcony or how to set up entire energy communities. If the plugging-and-playing turns out to be trickier than expected, you can get in touch with those who already produce renewable energy every day.
