by Susanne Reiff, GIZ/EUKI

Preparations are in full swing for EUKICON26, EUKI’s flagship biennial conference which will take place in Berlin on 19 and 20 May 2026. This year’s edition will bring together around 180 participants from 111 organisations across 24 countries to discuss how they can double down on climate action in an era of growing urgency and changing geopolitical landscapes.

Several people sit in a bright room with large arched windows, listening to a man standing and speaking in front of a screen.

With the wealth of expertise and experience that participants from various climate action backgrounds will bring to the event, EUKICON26 will offer a unique pan-European opportunity for networking and inspiration.

The diverse line-up of speakers includes politicians such as Thomas Kralinski, Director General for National and European Climate Action at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conversation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN), but also scientists and practitioners.

Topics on the agenda range from major political issues, such as framing climate action as a driver of Europe’s resilience, to practical matters like peatlands as key ecosystems for climate mitigation, carbon capture and storage and how to navigate climate scepticism. A special focus will be placed on the #EUKIworks initiative, which showcases the tangible and long-lasting impacts that EUKI projects have on people’s lives.

This sixth edition of EUKICON comes at a pivotal moment, as Europe seeks to anchor net-zero goals in a sovereign European economy and negotiate the nexus between climate and security policy. For those unable to attend, the EUKI team will capture key moments, outcomes and opinions and share them on the EUKI LinkedIn and Facebook channels. Stay updated with the EUKICON Facebook Stories for insights to keep you connected to the conversation. Following the conference, a summary report will be available on the EUKI website.
