Factsheet: Technology Procurement Groups Innovation Cluster (Sweden)

Technology procurement groups are networks where private actors collaborate to reduce energy consumption by e.g. enabling a faster introduction of new innovative energy-saving solutions to the market. The main advantage of the Swedish user-driven technology procurement groups is the motivation and commitment to the overall objective. This powerful group of clients (demand side) is able to change the behaviour of the industry (supply side) by altering demand patterns.

Factsheet: Carbon Tax (Sweden)

Sweden’s carbon tax has been the dominant instrument of Swedish climate policy since 1991, taxing energy emissions in transport, buildings (heating), industry, and agriculture. It is one of the oldest and strongest carbon price signals with the largest sector coverage in the world. The study of the BEACON project with Navigant and adelphi analyses the transferability of the climate policy measure to the German context.

Energy Transition Tax Credit CITE France

Factsheet: Energy Transition Tax Credit CITE (France)

The energy transition tax credit in France (‘Le crédit d’impôt pour la transition énergétique’, CITE) is providing an income tax credit for expenditures related to certain building renovation work to improve the energy efficiency of private dwellings or the modernisation of heating installations. Between 2005 and 2011, more than six million of the 34 million principal residences in France benefitted from CITE at least once. The study by Navigant and adelphi analyses the transferability of the climate policy measure to the German context.

Energy Performance Certificate Database Denmark

Factsheet: Energy Performance Certificate Database (Denmark)

Energy Performance Certificates (EPC), and databases that contain all of the information of the EPCs, are a policy tool used throughout the European Union to address the problem of incomplete information about the energy performance of buildings in the housing and buildings market. In Denmark, an EPC database has been in existence since 1997 and is publicly available online. The breadth, quality and accessibility of the Danish EPC database allows stakeholders to extract and utilise a wealth of information to raise awareness for and ultimately contribute to energy savings. The study by adelphi and Navigant examines the transferability to the German context.
