The Climarchinet expert group is made up of experts who, beyond their own line of expertise and professional interest, deal with obstacles and challenges that stand in the way of sustainable, carbon-neutral construction.

Objective of the document
- Summary of findings, available documents and expert opinions from individual fields who have participated in the implementation of the project as part of discussions, workshops and international conferences.
- Summary of recommendations resulting in faster transformation of the designers (in the role of architects) and contracting authorities (public administration) in public contracts with the aim of designing and constructing buildings with very low energy demands, adapted to climate change, political situation, and social and energy security.
- Taking into account PESTEL multi-criteria requirement

About the ClimArchiNet project
The project is mainly funded by the EUKI. EUKI is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK), the mission of which is to encourage cooperation within the EU in terms of further development and implementation of ambitious climate-related policy. Through the EUKI, the stakeholders in the field of climate can learn from each other. The initiative promotes intra-European dialogue, exchange of best practices, awareness raising and knowledge transfer.
The project implementation is ensured through the cooperation between:

- Inštitútprepasivné domy(SK) Institute for Passive Houses
The aim of the project is to identify the current situation and support development of innovative processes, materials and technologies for the preparation and implementation of buildings with very low energy needs throughout their life cycle. Support transformation of the building sector towards carbon neutrality, building adaptation to climate change and social and energy security. Main activities of the Czech project in a brief summary
In 2020-2022, the project focused on discussions with experts and on sharing of examples of good practices in sustainable architecture:

The premiere of Dr. Jürgen Schnieders’ video presentation on “The development of energy-efficient buildings and their impact on the climate” took place on November 30, 2021 during the live moderated broadcast of the Passive House Centre’s International Conference Connecting Buildings & Sustainability.
ClimArchiTrip / Six Pieces of Experience from Berlin
As part of the ClimArchiNet project in Czech Republic, in cooperation with the Technical University of Berlin, we prepared a 3-day study trip for a group of 24 experts from the Czech Republic visiting inspiring buildings with professional guides and an interpreter into Czech. The aim of this trip was to present 6 examples of current construction projects in Berlin.
ClimArchiTrip – Sustainable Architecture in Austria
The ClimArchiNet EUKI project is coming to an end. On a final study tour, participants had the chance to discover sustainable architecture in Vienna.
ClimArchiNet: How to transform cities and regions towards carbon neutrality?
On 22nd March 2022, EUKI Project ClimArchiNet invited local governments to the 2nd Round Table to discuss how cites and urban regions can achieve climate neutrality. The event was organized by the Institute for Passive House in cooperation with the Union of Slovak Cities.

In 2019, the first “Franco-German Energy Transition Week” took place in 70 cities in France and Germany. A second virtual edition was organized in 2021 by Energy Cities. The project launched the “Tandem” initiative, in which 15 French-German climate action partnerships are now leading local energy transition projects in their cities and communities. The cities of Metz and Worms were elected ‘champion partnership’ in 2019. They developed an Escape Game on climate change and conducted a joint study on heat islands and climate oases.
In 2021, 10 energy transition actions, including a participatory construction site on ecological renovation, were funded with support from the Franco-German Citizens’ Fund.
