Advancing Long-Term Energy Planning in CEE

EUKI Project Strengthening Ownership of Climate Policy in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) increases Central and Eastern European policymakers’ ownership of EU climate policy by improving their understanding of the EU climate agenda and the benefits of climate action.

The briefing “Advancing Long-Term Energy Planning in Central and Eastern Europe” examines gaps in long-term climate and energy planning across CEE countries. It highlights challenges such as weak political ownership, lack of strategic vision, limited coordination, and insufficient stakeholder engagement. The publication also provides recommendations for stronger national climate laws, improved planning processes, and more coherent, long-term climate governance in the region.
