Regional Synthesis Report on Capacity Gaps in Carbon Management
EUKI project GreenHorizon CEE builds capacity for responsible carbon management in Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, and Latvia. The project supports transparent, socially robust pathways for industrial decarbonisation.
The publication The Regional Synthesis Report maps capacity gaps for carbon capture and storage in Central and Eastern Europe. It assesses governance, regulation, market conditions, resources, and public awareness. The study compares readiness in Latvia, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria. It highlights missing permitting rules, long‑term liability, and transport planning. It identifies EU funding, research, and cross‑border cooperation as key enablers. The report offers clear priorities to accelerate CCS deployment while safeguarding social and environmental integrity.
