The third session by EUKI project CURE+ about creation and operations of the Urban Resource Centres will take place on 13 June 2024, 10:00 CET.

There is no prior registration necessary. If you wish to participate, please click here to join the webinar.

Two external experts are invited to present their URCs, located in Rotterdam and Barcelona. The presenters will talk about their organisations, how they have organised to start working and how they relate to the current CDW policy in their areas.

Jurn Quadt will present ‘De HER’, a unique combination of a waste recycling centre and hotspot for circular designers and makers in Rotterdam. The entrepreneurs in De HER will use bulky household waste donated by Rotterdam’s residents as raw material for their products. Together with these entrepreneurs and educational organisations in Rotterdam, De HER aims to make the circular transition more tangible and hopes to inspire the circular professionals of the future.

Recursos Urbanos, a recently opened private URC in Barcelona, will be presented by Alfred Güell. Alfred is a waste management consultant, that has actively participated in the development of construction and demolition waste recycling in Catalonia and Spain. As a founding partner of Eco.Gestion Environmental Consultancy Ltd, he has participated in advising public entities in the planning and implementation of measures to develop the recycling of CDW, and the carrying out of feasibility studies by companies and public organisations.

After the presentations, a discussion round will take place, where the moderated questions will focus on the policy challenges mentioned in the first part, and how they relate to current and upcoming CDW policy. The audience will be able to ask additional questions via the chat and will be prompted to ask their questions by the moderator.

The training session is open for all intersted individuals who care about sustainable use of resources, circular economy, management of urban resources and results of URC in particular.
