EUKI Shorts: Supporting consumers in the energy price crisis

Published: 09 November 2022

About these EUKI Shorts

Higher energy costs have a strong social justice aspect, particularly in countries and regions with low household income and greater reliance on fossil fuels. European countries have recently implemented various policy measures to alleviate the burden on households resulting from the energy crisis – and while these policy packages have mostly been focused on immediate short-term relief, it also again sparked debates on sustainable long-term relief measures in the framework of the broader climate crisis.

Drawing on an analysis of policy measures in Germany, Poland and Romania, this web seminar was centered on the impact of the relief measures taken to support households, both at the national and European level.
