On 11 December, the EUKI Academy hosted its first “Matchmaking Event” for climate action collaboration. The goal of the event was to create a platform for networking, sharing project ideas, and exploring potential partnerships. More than 70 participants from various organisations working on climate action in 25 European countries took part in this dynamic event.

During the one-hour online format, thematic virtual project rooms were hosted by six organisations. Topics discussed included removing legal barriers to promote green innovations and the pilot project “Circular NeighborHubs”, which focuses on developing circular, multifunctional urban spaces. Additionally, general discussion rooms aligned with the six EUKI clusters facilitated broader dialogue and idea-sharing.

The event primarily focused on initial interactions and networking. The participants appreciated the opportunity to build new connections and share insights. The support provided by the EUKI Academy was particularly praised.

Elsa Benhöfer, Coordinator of the EUKI Academy, summarises the event

This first matchmaking event showed that there is a strong need and motivation for networking within the climate action community. The event was inspiring and the feedback we gathered encourages us to further develop and improve this format.

The EUKI Academy plans to refine the format and is already looking forward to the next edition in late 2025.
