30 kindergarten teachers participated in total. Some of the participants were from twelve kindergartens from Burgas that have received support from the BEACON project as well as one school from Sofia. They all will start implementing in their schools the energy saving activities initiated by BEACON and NTEF.

The event targeted the work of teachers in kindergartens due to high demand and interest from the teachers, as well as to the decision of Burgas municipality to introduce the energy saving initiative into all of its schools and kindergartens. The participating teachers received certificates and credits accordingly. The trainers were from Sofia University and UfU.

During the training, teachers demonstrated and tried activities suitable for preschool-aged children. The option to discuss the abstract topic of climate and energy with the children was also explored. Practical, gamified activities were presented, that would leave impact on the children and their future habits, forming the basis for more climate-aware behaviour.

The event generated many discussions about the development of the initiative in Bulgaria and the exchange of new ideas among the participants.
