Partnership Principle Violation in REPowerEU

dflip

This position paper by EUKI project Directing EU Funds Towards Climate Neutrality draws upon the concerns of civil society organisations (CSO) from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia regarding the lack of transparent and inclusive participation in the preparation process of RePowerEU contents.

The CSOs analysed their governments’ progresses and argue that the current drafting process will lead to the violation of participation and partnership principles. They conclude that extended deadlines, an active involvement of the civil society in the policy-making process and the integration of good suggestions will help to ensure that the policies accurately reflect the interests and needs of the communities they will serve.
