Briefing: Fit to Succeed? An Assessment of the Romanian Draft Energy and Climate Plan

As part of the European Union’s 2030 climate and energy package, EU member states are required to develop energy and climate strategies to plan and to report on their 2030 climate and energy objectives. This briefing assesses the draft plan of Romania and an overall score is provided at the end of the assessment. The study concludes that it is paramount that the final plan includes more effective policies that can untap Romania’s full potential of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the transport, buildings and agricultural sectors.
