2nd Intermodality Awareness Raising Day in Vas County, Hungary
The Vas County Government Office organized successfully the 2nd Intermodality Awareness Raising Day on September 19, 2023 in the framework of the HINGE (Higher bike-transit INtermodality from Good Experiences) project supported by the EUKI.
The all-day program took place in Őrség National Park (HU), with the focus of intermodal transport, during which the participants had the opportunity to try out the combination of rail and bicycle transport in real-life practice.
The real aim of the HINGE program was dual: on the one hand, to draw attention to intermodal transport and its potential among the participants, and on the other hand, by using the contact system of the participating experts, to share the new information and experiences gained here with the citizens, local governments, further experts in the fields economic, tourism and transport.
As part of the 2nd Intermodality Awareness Day, the Office also organized a drawing competition entitled “Move Eco-friendly”. A professional jury selected the first three winners in each age group (6-10 years, 11-15 years) from the received works, and anyone could cast their vote for the work they liked in the form of a public vote announced on the Office’s Facebook page. The results became public on September 19, 2023. The results will be announced in an award ceremony with the participation of the children which will take place on October 04, 2023.
