Citizen-based Energy Communities are an important instrument to establish more renewable power at the local level and alleviate energy poverty in societies. The main issues that need to be tackled remain the lack of proper legislation on creating and running energy communities and their crowdfunding.
In its country reports, EUKI project SunSharing evaluated the circumstances surrounding Energy Communities and Crowdfunding initiatives, by defining key issues and opportunities in its partner countries. Reports are available for Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, and North Macedonia.
