Digital Expert Workshop: Urban Nature-Based Solutions in Germany
During the half-day web-based event, the most important project results from NATURVATION will be presented as a basis for discussions about future challenges, need for action and options for nature-based solutions (NBS) in Germany. Highlights will include a presentation of the findings from 150 German NBS case studies from the Urban Nature Atlas, as well as insights on innovative NBS financing, cooperation and governance examples from across Germany. These will be discussed together with experts from practice, politics, administration and research in an interactive online format, enabling live question and answer sessions between participants and presenters.
The event will be held in German.
Registration is open. Please note that this event was originally planned to be held in person in Berlin, but has been modified due to COVID-19 to take place online during the morning of 5 May 2020. NATURVATION: Under the direction of Durham University, the NATURVATION (Nature-Based Urban Innovation) project comprises 14 institutions throughout Europe working in the fields of urban development, innovation research, geography, ecology, environmental assessment and economics. The project also has partnerships with municipalities, non-governmental organisations and businesses. The project team is exploring what nature-based solutions can do in cities and how innovation takes place. An important component is working with communities and stakeholders to develop the knowledge and tools needed to realise the potential of nature-based solutions to achieve urban sustainability goals.
